There has been a serious accident on the A31 outside Winchester. It occurred just after 7.00 a.m., when a sports car1 skidded on the wet road surface in the slow lane, and hit a cyclist2 with great force. Emergency services are at the scene of the accident, and an ambulance3 has taken the injured cyclist to hospital. He is thought to be in a serious condition. The road is still blocked, and drivers are being advised to avoid the area.

Jedes deutsche Kind kennt das BRETTSPIEL ‚Mensch Ärgere Dich Nicht‘. Und tatsächlich ist das ein guter Rat: Ein Mensch sollte sich nicht ärgern, wenn seine Spielfigur kurz vor dem Ziel von einem anderen Spieler vom Spielbrett geworfen wird. Man kann nicht strategisch spielen, der ERFOLG hängt nur vom Glück ab. Jeder der maximal vier Spieler versucht, mit dem WÜRFEL auf möglichst hohe Punktzahlen zu kommen. Entsprechend dieser Punkte bewegt man seine vier Spielfiguren rund um das Spielbrett und dann in das eigene ‚Haus‘, das heißt in das ZIEL. Wer zuerst ein volles Haus hat, ist der Sieger.
Besonders SPANNEND und lustig wird es, wenn ein ERFOLGREICHER Spieler kurz vor dem Ziel wieder von vorn beginnen muss. Wenn man es dann schafft, SICH nicht zu ÄRGERN, gibt es viel Spaß bei allen, die dabei sind. 
Und Spaß scheint es zu machen, denn das Spiel existiert schon seit 1914 und sollte sogar den Soldaten im Ersten Weltkrieg die ZEIT VERTREIBEN. Es wurde inzwischen 70 Millionen mal verkauft, es hat NACHAHMER im Ausland gefunden und es gibt auch eine TURNIER-Szene. Seit 2010 kann man sogar WELTMEISTER im ‚Sich Nicht Ärgern’ werden.

3 Useful Phrases for IELTS Speaking Part 1, 2 and 3. Listen now.

Imagine being versatile in your language expressions? 

What would it include?

Will you sound different? Use complicated words? Or you'll speek faster?

These can be your strategies for success.

Below are some ideas that you can inject in your speech that will help you get a higher IELTS speaking score.

Here they are:

Transition Words - In the speaking section, transition words can help you to structure your response and give your ideas more clearly. Some common transition words and phrases include "Moreover, " "in addition, " "Furthermore, " "however, " "nevertheless, " "on the other hand, " "as a result, " "consequently, " "therefore, " "in conclusion, " and "to sum up."

Next are conditionals - The best way to approach part three of the exam is to expand your answers as much as possible. The topics are usually very broad, and the examiner wants to hear you speak in depth about a topic not answer as quickly as possible. This is your chance to shine!

Here are some conditionals you can use :

a) Zero Conditionals 

They are used to describe factual situations. Both clauses are in the simple present tense.


When it rains, I take the bus.

b) First Conditionals 
They are used to express what will most likely happen in the future if a certain condition is met. The ‘if’ phrase is normally in the present tense, and the following clause frequently includes a verb such as ‘will,’ ‘can’, or ‘might,’. 

If I get the required band score for IELTS, I will migrate to Canada.

c) Second Conditionals

They are used to express an improbable circumstance. The ‘if’ phrase is in the past tense, whereas the following clause frequently includes a verb such as ‘would’ or ‘could’.


If I were the mayor of our city, I would ban the use of plastics.

こんにちは！
Japanese daily life podcast のAtsushiです。
このPodcastは、日本語を勉強しているみなさんに向けたPodcastです。

今回はケルンの話です。
とその前に、ケルンと言って伝わらないことも多いですが、日本ではケルンと言われているのであえてケルンと言って進めますね。Kölnケルンは、英語ではCologneなので、コロンとも言われます。

ここケルンでははじめにケルン大聖堂に行きました。
1248年に建設がはじまり、1880年まで続いたようです。
157メートルの塔が2つあり、本当に迫力ある建物です。

僕たちはこの塔に登りました。
階段は石造りの螺旋階段で、500段以上ありました。
ちなみに、階段の数はー段、と言います。
塔の1番上まで行くと、鐘がいくつもありました。工事中だったので、骨組みとかがあって良く見えなませんでした。それでも大小10コぐらいの鐘があるのはわかりました。これが一斉に鳴ると思うと、大きな音だろうなと思いました。

階段を上がるのはけっこうしんどかったですが、降りるのは思ってたよりも早く降りれました。

戦争中に破壊された場所も修繕されて、今の時代にもずっと残っているのは本当にすごいですね。

このケルン大聖堂を見た後に、僕たちは、人と会う約束をしていました。ケルン中央駅の前で待ち合わせをしていたので、そこで待つことにしました。
