Sawasdee ka! I'm Cake. In this first episode, I'll explain why the word "ให้" (hâi) is about much more than just "giving" an object.

The Logic Equation:
[Action] + ให้ + [Receiver] = Doing something for someone.

Examples from the episode:

ตัดผมให้พ่อ (Tad-pom HAI Por) = Cutting hair for Dad.

ตัดผมให้ตัวเอง (Tad-pom HAI tua-eng) = Cutting hair for myself.

Think of it exactly like 「俾」(bei2).
Example: 幫爸爸剪髮 ➔ 剪髮「俾」爸爸。

Moja prednost je to što mogu da objasnim i najsitnije nijanse značenja reči na više jezika, a engleski govorim na nivou izvornog govornika.
Imam mnogo hobija. U slobodno vreme volim da čitam knjige na terasi, idem na bazen i pešačim. Bavim se sportskim penjanjem, a volim i da gledam filmove, tako da uvek mogu da ti preporučim nešto zanimljivo za gledanje.

[00:36] And let's try to translate it to English, before we start dissecting it.

It's been three weeks.
My voice is now familiar.
Are you used to it?

[00:51] And, let's dissect it.
[00:53] Üç hafta geçti. The first line. "Üç hafta" means "three weeks"; "geçti" means, in this case, "it's been", "it has passed". It's been three weeks. Üç hafta geçti.
[01:09] Now, the second line. Sesim artık tanıdık. The first word, "sesim" means "my voice". "Ses" literally means "sound", it could also be somebody's "voice". "Sesim" is "my voice". "Artık" means like "now", "from now on" like there's been a change. "Tanıdık" is "familiar". It's from the verb "tanımak": "to know someone", "to know something" even. "To recognize". "Seni tanıyorum" means "I know you", "I recognize you". "Tanışmak" is "to meet someone for the first time". It's in the same phrase when we say "tanıştığıma memnun oldum": "nice to meet you".
[02:08] Now the final line: "Alıştınız mı?" is a question. You might recognize the "mı" at the end. And "alıştınız mı?", I am speaking to you in the second person plural. I am a little bit formal or you might just be more than one person. This is from "alışmak", "to get used to something". It's in the past. "Alış-tı-nız" makes it second person plural. "Did you get used to it?" "Alıştınız mı?".
[02:47] You could say, if you are used to it, "Alıştım". "I got used to it". "I am used to it".
[02:54] Well, that's it for the day. I'm just going to read the haiku in Turkish one more time and I'll say goodbye until the next week.

13年前の3/11、何があったか知っていますか？

2011年の3/11、東日本大震災がありました。

東日本各地での大きな揺れや、大津波・火災などにより、2万2,318名の死者・行方不明者が発生しました（震災関連死を含む）。

これは明治以降の日本の地震被害としては
関東大震災
明治三陸地震
に次ぐ被害規模だと言われています。



この時に起こった福島原発の事故について、映画があります。

Fukushima 50という映画があります。

福島原発の事故が起こった時、現場で必死に闘った作業員たちの話です。

ぼくはこの映画がとても好きです。



決して明るい話ではありませんが、事実に近い話なので、もし見たことがなければ、ぜひ見てほしいと思います。
