カブライダーになる！
今日は　私がカブライダーになったお話です。
実は　去年の１２月に小型自動２輪車の免許を取りました。
小型自動２輪車とは、排気量が５０ｃｃ超えで１２５ｃｃ以下のオートバイのことです。
もともと　車の免許は持っていましたが、バイクは今まで５０ｃｃ以下のものさえ　乗ったことはありませんでした。
なのに、なぜ　今更　小型自動２輪の免許を取ることにしたのか？
それは、去年　仲のいい友人二人が　そろってホンダのクロスカブを買ったからです。
それまで　私は　いつも　後ろに乗せてもらうばかりでした。バイクを運転したいと思ったこともないし、むしろ　怖くてできないと思っていました。
でも、クロスカブは大きくないし、イスに座るみたいに　まっすぐ座るので　運転も楽そうです。それにないより、かわいい。友人一人のクロスカブは　くまモンバージョンで、黒い車体にくまモンのマークが付いているし、キーもくまモンです。私はもともと大のくまモン好きで、いろいろなくまモングッズを集めています。だから、このバイクも欲しいと思ったんですね。
そして、小型自動二輪AT限定の免許を取るために、去年の９月から３か月間、教習所に通いました。自転車には乗れるのでバランスを保つことはちゃんとできました。でも、バイクはハンドルをちょっと回すだけで　勢いよく動き出すので　初めはとても怖かったです。それでも、何回か教習所に通ううちに、だんだんバイクに慣れてきました。バイクの操作そのものを習得する第一段階は予定回数をちょっとオーバーしました。交通ルールと安全確認を習得する第二段階はスムーズにできました。なぜなら、車の免許は持っていましたから。
そして、卒業検定！試験にはコースが２つあって、どちらのコースが当たるかは当日までわかりません。私は、２つのコースのルートマップを　試験前に先生と一緒に確認し、頭に叩き込みました。３０人ぐらいの人が同じ日に試験を受けました。みんな、とても緊張した表情をしていました。きっと　私もしかめっ面になっていたと思います。
途中で失敗をして、失格になるとその場で試験が終わります。そんなことにならないようにと思うと、ますますドキドキしてきました。私の順番は最後のほうだったので、まだまだ時間はあると思っていたのに、前の人があっという間に失格になって、思っていたより早く私の順番が来ました。
バイクにはトランシーバーが取り付けられていて、試験官の指示がそこから聞こえます。「はじめてください」という声で、スタートです。私は、小さな声で「左ウインカーつける」「けす」「とまる」「安全確認　左」などとつぶやきながら、バイクを走らせました。３０キロを保って走ったり、ある地点でピタッと止まったり、１０メートルほどの細い一本橋を渡ったり。S字クランクに、L字クランク。どれも、練習で苦労した課題です。どれか一つでも失敗したら、試験はそこで終了です。一番大切なのは、安全確認。別ルートを走っているほかのライダーを邪魔したり、危険な走行をしても失格です。止まるときも、ラインぎりぎりにピタッと止めなければいけません。小さな声で一つ一つの動作を言い、確認しながら、なんとかゴールすることができました。
ゴールでエンジンを切って、バイクを正しく止めたところで、試験官の声がトランシーバーから聞こえてきました。「はい。よくできていました。S字クランクの後の右の安全確認だけ　もうちょっとできていたらよかったけどね。OKです」
やった～！合格だ～！うれしかったです。そのあと、簡単な卒業式がありました。試験前は３０人ぐらいいたのに、合格した人は半分くらいでした。

１２５ｃｃのバイクの免許は取れました。あとはバイクを買うだけです。
実は、私が買ったのは、くまモンのクロスカブではなく、青色のスーパーカブです。とても鮮やかな青色で、きれいです。　なぜ、くまモンじゃないの？って思いますよね。実は、クロスカブは車高が高くて、止まったときに　私の足が地面に着かないことがわかったんです。それで、悩みに悩んで、クロスカブはあきらめて　スーパーカブにしたんです。
ちょっと残念だけど、青色のスーパーカブも　とても気に入っています。まだ数回しか乗っていませんが、少しずつ遠出に挑戦していこうと思っています。

今年も　4月に、市役所から「特定健診受診券」という紙が送られてきました。　これは、年に1回、健康チェックをしてくださいという　案内です。
いつも　健康診断までに「痩せなくちゃ！」と思うのですが、痩せたためしがありません。
それに今年は2月に手首を骨折してから、運動もあまりしませんでした。コロナで家にいることが増えて太り、骨折後も太り……。　やばいです！
恐ろしくて　最近は体重計に　乗りもしていませんでした。そんなわけで、今年の健診には　３つの難関がありました。
まず一つめは、当日までに　大腸がん検診のために　便を2回取らなくてはいけないことでした。なぜなら、私は便秘をよくするので、いつ便を取れるかわからないからです。でも、今年は意外にすぐ取ることができました。つぎの難関は、当日です。怖いのは　体重計と　お腹の周りの長さ、腹囲を測るときです。できるだけ、そおっと　体重計に乗りましたが、電子体重計は正確に私の体重を計測していました。　しっかり増えていました。腹囲のほうは、お腹をへこませましたが、看護師さんに「楽にしてください」と言われ、緩んだところを測られてしまいました。　かなり大きくなっていました。やっぱりなあ・・・という結果でした。
最後の難関は検査後です。健診後すぐに飲んだ下剤が効いてくるときです。なぜ下剤を飲むかというと、胃がん健診でバリウムを飲んでいるからです。バリウムを体の外に出してしまわなければいけないんです。　下剤が効いてきたのは4時間後ぐらいでした。家でトムクルーズの映画『オブリビオン』を見ている最中でした。ストーリーが盛り上がって　トムクルーズ演じるジャックにピンチが訪れたとき、私にもピンチがやってきました。思わず、「映画、止めといて」と言うと、「これ、テレビやから、止まらないよ」と。ああ、そうでした。　私は大急ぎでトイレに駆け込みました。映画が終るまで3－4回はトイレに走ったと思います。
さて、あとは3週間後に届く検査結果を待つだけです。本当のピンチはそれからかもしれません。

In this story, a Ferrari named Rarri gets an offer that’s hard to refuse. But what will the consequences be? This is Part 2 of 6.  

It was 7:25am when Rarri rolled into the large garage located at the race track. It was here where the racing cars got tuned up and repaired. Rarri’s number one competitor was waiting for him: a Mercedes racing car. 

“Good of you to meet me here,” said the Mercedes. 

“Why did you call me here?” said Rarri. 

“I just wanted to have a friendly talk.” 

The Mercedes was leaking arrogance and superiority. Rarri didn’t respond, but slightly revved his engine. 

“Listen Rarri, I’ll cut to the chase. I’ve got all the money I’ll ever need. Enough to feed generations of Mercedes. That’s not why I race. I race for the glory. And as you know, I have quite a reputation.” 

Rarri said, “You called me here to boast about your success?” 

“I’ve been watching you closely, Mr. Ferrari. You’ve performed quite well, winning so many races. But you know you can’t beat me, and I won’t let you. That cup is mine.” 

“We’ll see who is the faster car and better driver soon.” 

“Maybe, but I’d rather settle things today. I have an offer for you. You lose on purpose and I’ll give you half the prize money. Second place is nothing to be ashamed of.” 

Rarri’s mind immediately flashed to his family. They all depended on Rarri to win this race. They had been so supportive, encouraging him day and night to train harder. 

Mercedes saw that Rarri was contemplating and he said, “I heard a little rumour that you’re feeling a bit nervous about the big race. Something about wind and snow. Would I be right?” 

“I’m not worried about snow,” said Rarri, trying to be brave. “But I care very much about my family, and they need this money. I’ll think about your offer and let you know before the big race.” 

“Listen here, little race car. I respect you, but you must know, if you don’t accept my gracious offer, there’ll be consequences… You’ve got 24 hours.”
