I like "angel". I think it is one of the oldest words in our language. That it has both Germanic and Latin roots indicates that it has Indo-European origins, confirmation that angels have been with us for a long time.

I like 'breakfast'. I like it because of the thing it represents - best meal of the day. But I also enjoy the pleased reaction from students, when they get to a slightly higher level and realise that its meaning is literal.
