Hello, how did you reach the C1 level (what exercises you did) and how did you improve your speaking skills and accent? Share your experiences with me if you want, as I need some advice. Thank you 😊

I haven't yet reached C1 in my target language (Spanish), but I have been listening to TV shows and writing exercises here on iTalki, which gracious people then correct for me. Because of that, I have begun to write more grammatically correct Spanish naturally, without specifically trying to follow any rules. I still make mistakes, but somehow I'm starting to get it right more often, even though I haven't been studying grammar from books. Reaching that kind of "C1" mastery also means knowing a lot of words too, right? I've also been intentionally memorizing hundreds of new words using flash cards.

Hi Francesca! I grew up in Canada wherein English is spoken regularly. I'm not being sarcastic. I am simply agreeing with the other folks who answered you. I heard English daily, spoke it, read it, practiced it; in other words, was immersed in it. If it had been Italian, I would be fluent in that language. Find an English partner or teacher and practice, practice, practice. Good luck with your learning goals!

Hey 👋 I’m native, however, I have studied other languages. Practice makes perfect. Reading and speaking (of course listening and writing too) as much as possible should certainly help. The more that you immerse yourself in the language the quicker you will likely acquire it đŸ’Ș😊
