(part 1)Job sharing is a type of part-time employment in which one position can be shared by two part-time workers; that is, the two people share the work, hours, and pay of one job. Job sharing opens more opportunities to people who have other responsibilities, such as taking care of their children or studying, and who need flexible working hours. Do you agree or disagree that job sharing is good for workers? Why? (This is a long question!) Life today is full of uncertainty, and it is very important that we have flexible working hours to deal with those unpredictabilities. In my opinion, many people can benefit from a new type of employment called job sharing, which means two individuals share work tasks, hours and earnings for the same position. I feel this way for two main reasons and I will explore them in the following paragraphs. First of all, job sharing enables those people, who otherwise couldn’t get any job, to go to work. Regular jobs require employees to work for a fixed span of time, which could be a big challenge for people who have to take more time to look after their babies but also need to earn some money. However, if two mothers take on a full-time job together, they can collaborate with each other on time and workload sharing. One mom may take care of more assignments at those times when her job-sharer has more demands from her child, and accordingly she would earn more than the other in return. Therefore, both of them can get some wages to improve their lives. For this reason, I believe many will get more work opportunities if they can share a job with another.( to be continued)
