Day 4/7 The impression of Shanghai If I need to describe Shanghai in one word, it must be "modern". if in two words, then they would be "bustling" and "quiet". it may sound paradoxical but let me clarify. As for its bustling part, I refer to those skyscrapers, lots of commercial centers, the bund and other scenic spots packed with tourists. For the quiet part, I am talking about both unknown and famous museums and galleries there, and a lot of tranquil parks and streets. I am really into those quiet and wonderful streets which are paradises for us to take a stroll. They are usually lined with green trees on both sides and surrounded by modern residential buildings and historical buildings. Mostly, there are not so many people there. Maybe several walkers pass by occasionally and only two or three break the silence. Besides, there are no car horns or construction going on. It is totally different than the busy bustling commercial areas of Shanghai. I enjoy walking along the street, and it makes me feel so peaceful and calm. I could forget about all of the pressure of life, and have a peace of mind. Thanks for your reading, and correction in advance💖

It may sound paradoxical, but let me clarify. As for its bustling part, I refer to those skyscrapers, commercial centers (the plural is enough here, no need to say "many"), the Bund, and other scenic spots packed with tourists. For the quiet part, I am talking about both unknown and famous museums and galleries, and all the tranquil parks and streets. ("there" is implied since we know you're talking about Shanghai. If you want, you could add "in the city" or something like that.) I am really into those quiet and wonderful streets which are paradises for us to take a stroll in. They are usually lined with green trees on both sides and surrounded by both modern residential buildings and historical buildings. Mostly, there are not so many people there. Maybe some pedestrians pass by occasionally, but few break the silence. Besides, there are no car horns or construction going on. It is totally different than the busy bustling commercial areas of Shanghai. I enjoy walking along the street, and it makes me feel so peaceful and calm. Yeah, I grew up near New York, which is the closest thing Americans have to Shanghai (haha), and tourists mostly stick to a few famous places... but they're not really representative. Most of Shanghai isn't like the Bund, just like most of NYC isn't like Rockefeller center. It's so important to have tranquility even in a big city!
