As a global hit, AI has been debated for years. Recently controversy has been increasing since Alpha Go beat humans in Go, the game ought to have been the last field in which AI can take a place. It’s time to think carefully about a question: Is AI technology a real bargain or another Frankenstein? On the one hand,AI has its merits. Since the conception was first issued in 1956, AI has developed rapidly. Its outstanding calculation capacity and numerous internet datas provide more possibilities for IoT, vocal assistants and other emerging technology. AI not only boosts the development of science but, to some degrees, fills people’s spiritual gap as well. In an online group called ‘ Romance among Men and Roberts’ of Douban gathers more than a hundreds fan girls of Replica, an America app where people can flirt with a robot. Girls find such a character is much more considerate than a real lover because AI never gets tired or angry and is always ready to listen to your complaint. On the other, AI’s dramatically growth also intrigues worries. People are afraid that the Martrix will come into reality as robots continue to develop. Websites ask people to type verification code to confirm that they are not machine. But till now not an AI has passed the Turing test yet, which means that robots still have a long way to go. Another reality, nevertheless, should be more concerned. While AI can make life easier, it is taking people’s job away. Although computers can only replace some low-skilled workers at present, Google Translation and other developing softwares show its great potentials of doing cognitive jobs. Like every other new technology, AI brings some problems while it benefits people. The key question is how we response to the issue. If we humans keep thinking, we will never need to worry that AI will take over.
