Written Exercise 196 – A BIG WILD BLACK BEAR APPEARS ON AN EXPRESSWAY [ I want to practice describing the videos I have watched or retelling the stories I have heard with proper tenses. ] Yesterday afternoon, I was immersing myself in watching videos on my phone and one was randomly recommended to me. This video was about a big wild black bear spotted on the freeway in the northeast of China: Jilin. It showed a big black bear happily running on the expressway and from time to time going after the driving cars that were passing by it. It is disturbing to think that a dangerous wild animal will suddenly rush towards the moving cars on a busy expressway.

Great. Just a couple of minor corrections. I never saw any bears when I was there!

This video was about a big wild black bear spotted on the freeway in the northeast of China: Jilin. It showed a big black bear happily running on the motorway and from time to time it was going after the driving cars that were passing by it. It is disturbing to think that a dangerous wild animal will suddenly rush towards the moving cars on a busy motorway.
This was a good effort and I understood it well, good job! A few pointers: ‘I immersed myself in...’ makes sense, although in this context it is a little over the top. In this context you could simply say ‘I watched a lot of videos’. Immersing yourself in something usually means over a longer period of time to truly understand something, for example ‘a method actor immersed himself in the character, even when they were not filming the movie’ or ‘immersing yourself in the French culture’ Expressway would be understood but in England we say ‘motorway’.

Hmm. You could either say "passing by" or "passing by it," but as the reader, I'd want to know if the cars were just passing by or if the bear was specifically trying to chase cars that passed by it as it was "happily" running. Like did the bear specifically change direction to occasionally go after the cars that passed by it? Or was the bear aimlessly going after cars as they passed by?
