Funny questions to ask in a conversation
I was looking for some funny questions to my conversational classes and I have to share!
I'm also interested in your opinions.

Is cereal soup? Why or why not?
Is hotdog a sandwich? Why or why not?

I think that cereal is not soup, because you don't boil it? On the other hand, I heard of cold soups, but I don't know if you boil them first.

A hotdog is a sandwich because you put the sausage between the bun, but the Czech version is not, because we make a hole in the long bun (a roll) and stuff it with the sausage.

By "funny," I am guessing that you mean "thought-provoking, but light-hearted."

"Which way should you hang toilet paper? Should the free end be toward the wall or away from it?"

"According to science books, the colors of the spectrum are 'red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.' Do you think indigo deserves to be on that list?"

"With the increasing use of emoji, are we moving toward a world where we will be writing using nothing but emoji? Are we evolving a global, ideographic language?"

With regard to hot dogs, I haven't checked, but I believe that in US fast food restaurants they would describe a hot dog as "a sandwich," because that is the word they use to distinguish a single item from a so-called "meal." If you say "I would like a Big Mac" (a kind of McDonald's hamburger) they will ask "the meal, or just the sandwich?" The "meal" would be a combination of the hamburger together with "fries" (French-fried potatoes) and a drink, at a special price. "Just the sandwich" would be the hamburger all by itself.
