Who is a good lecturer?

I'm studying in university. Many of our lecturers are incredibly boring and incompetent. First of all, many of them often tell us how smart and cool they are and how stupid are a lot of students. It's really annoying. I consider, a good lecturer should try to make students better than they were before the lecture. Others give dull lectures with a soporific voice. It's really awful for students because they want to sleep and find this subject uninteresting. Another thing is where you must do really pointless tasks because your lecturer doesn't want to find more interested tasks. Also many of the lecturers chose their job because of the prestige (if he is working in a famous university) or a need to do at least something. I think it's a big problem of our education (I mean Russian because I don't know what education is like in other countries). It's not about all lecturers, but about the majority. In addition, a lecturer can be a good professional in his sphere but a bad lecturer.

As a teacher, I attend many online meetings and I know exactly what you mean. Teachers and lecturers need to engage with their students if their students are to benefit from the lectures. What I would suggest for you (to try at least!) is to look at the subject of the lesson before you go in and try to think what you know about it and what questions you would like answered in the lesson. Write this down in your notebook. While you are listening see if these questions are answered and if not try to ask them at the end of the lesson if possible.

I know exactly what you mean about pointless tasks too, why don't you try to come up with some tasks that you can suggest to the teacher as an alternative, don't just say the lecturers tasks are rubbish and boring. That helps no one. When you come up with the task you need to make sure that the teacher's  criteria are met. Don't forget that there is so much technology that you can take advantage of these days for presenting work.

As regards your work the biggest problem appears to be with the article 'the' which is sometimes called the concrete article because it refers to a specific thing.

Another thing is where you must do really useless assignments because your instructor doesn't want to find a more interesting assignment. Also many instructors choose their job because of the prestige (if he is working in a famous university) or the need to do at least something. I think it's a big problem in our education system (I mean in Russia because I don't know what education is like in other countries). That doesn't go for all, but for the majority. In addition, an instructor can be a good professional in his field but a bad teacher.

I've come across professors like that, too. I'm not sure if they're the majority here, but we definitely have plenty of instructors like that.
