There's a definition and an example in a dictionary like this: lock somebody/yourself out (of something) to prevent somebody from entering a place by locking the door I'd locked myself out of the house and had to break a window to get in. But, still, I can't make sense of the example. Esp, "I'd locked myself out of the house". What does it mean?
