How do you read books?
Do you read, underline and write notes on sides, or do you read an leave the book as new?
I am one of those underlining and writing notes.
I am asking because I took from my bookshelf a book that I read the first time 24 years ago and then 17 years ago (I know because I write dates when I read) and I like to read my "old" notes and see if I changed my mind.

No, I don't make any notes and I hate if someone borrowed it and wrote anything on it. I try to keep it clean and new as possible as I can:)

To me depend of kind of book reading. The last one was a text of psychology and yes I underlined a lot. Instead if the book is a romance or another I do prefer don't underline.

You write on books!? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaghhhhhhhhh hehehe nasty!!!
I'd only ever write on a book if I had a nice copy and a rough copy. I think it is a good idea though, to see how you change in the future.
I read books by turning the light on, opening them (the right way up) and holding them in front of my eyes hehehe
