Maria is a very warm and welcoming person who creates a safe and comfortable space to practise. She really encourages you to speak in a fun way. She also shares bits of knowledge about Portuguese culture and more colloquial phrases used in everday Portuguese. Highly recommend taking classes with her!

What an enjoyable lesson with Maria! She is patient and encouraging and asked questions to get me talking more. I like how the focus was on speaking--she gave little grammar tips here and there, but mostly she allowed me to talk. It was fun interacting with her, and it felt great to be speaking in Portuguese about engaging subjects.
