Vincenzo Luca

I have been taking lessons with Vincenzo once a week for about two months. I can confidently say my Italian is getting better and better each week. He is extremely patient and cares about his students. What I love about his lessons is the way he uses different techniques. His lessons are never boring. We work on conversation, pronunciation, and grammar. He uses music, culture, and real situations (work, family, interests, etc.) to teach the language. He gives corrective feedback in a very positive way and always explains how to fix mistakes. I am very grateful to have his as my teacher and I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to learn in a fun and engaging way.

For anyone who has ever longed to speak the colorful language of Napuletan’, I beg of you to schedule a lesson immediately with Vincenzo. We have met three times and I cannot thank him enough for my improvements in such a short amount of time. He will teach you how to think, act, and truly be Neapolitan! From hand gestures to facial expressions, and music to poetry, the small nuances and history of “why” and “how” things are done in this ancient culture are truly fascinating. Vincenzo was enthusiastic and personable, and was able to quickly access materials to assess my level and augment my learning experience in Italian. He spoke slowly and clearly and had a lot to offer in the Italian language and culture. He had a knack for being spontaneous in creating discussion topics in Italian. Enzo and I often chat about how Italian and American cultures are dwindling due to the constraints of commerce, industry, and business. We obviously do this in Italian, but the point I'm driving at is... we have genuine conversations. He worked with me while I was a beginner and since having made the leap to intermediate, we converse as a means of covering/revisiting grammar points instead of in a lecture. Enzo is equipped to be the Instructor you need him to be, whether it's explaining basics in detail at a slow pace, or if it's discussing the nuances between Petrarca's Florentine vs what's spoken in the city today... He's The Man.
