Umuhoza Karen

I recommend Umuhoza for all levels of Swahili learners. Her wealth of knowledge of different east African cultures/customs adds an extra level of benefits to taking her classes for beginners to advance level learners.

If it were possible I would definitely rate Umuhoza Karen much higher. She was very kind and understanding in her approach and always encourages me to keep speaking Swahili. She made the lesson very fun and interactive, and she is very knowledgeable about the Swahili language, she explains clearly and precisely more than what the word means but how to use it properly she is one of the best Swahili teachers out there. I'll definitely be doing more lessons with her, and I have nothing but great things to say about her.

I could you recommend Umuhoza more highly. I learn a lot during her classes AND it is a lot of fun. This must be the best way to learn a language... She leads the class Professionally, and seems to understand very well how to adapt her curriculum to my needs, interests and learning speed. When we talk, it is like I am in Africa already!

Today was my 4th lesson with Umu and I am learning a great deal in our sessions. Umuhoza is a naturally gifted teacher and makes me feel very comfortable and encouraged throughout our lessons.

We had a great lesson and learned some important words and grammar terms. There were some important vocabulary choices that I didn't even see in Duolingo (including basic words), so this was helpful in getting some key vocab and sentence structure.
