Umuhoza Karen

I recommend Umuhoza for all levels of Swahili learners. Her wealth of knowledge of different east African cultures/customs adds an extra level of benefits to taking her classes for beginners to advance level learners.

I could you recommend Umuhoza more highly. I learn a lot during her classes AND it is a lot of fun. This must be the best way to learn a language... She leads the class Professionally, and seems to understand very well how to adapt her curriculum to my needs, interests and learning speed. When we talk, it is like I am in Africa already!

I have no words to express how much I love the lessons with Umuhoza Karen <3. She always encourages me to express myself so that I can dive deep into the language. Even though it's still very new for me to learn Kinyarwanda, I feel more and more comfortable and actually realize my own progress. I'm so happy to have found her as a teacher and I'd recommend taking her classes to everyone who is eager to learn either Kinyarwanda (or Kiswahili). She's the best!

If it were possible I would definitely rate Umuhoza Karen much higher. She was very kind and understanding in her approach and always encourages me to keep speaking Swahili. She made the lesson very fun and interactive, and she is very knowledgeable about the Swahili language, she explains clearly and precisely more than what the word means but how to use it properly she is one of the best Swahili teachers out there. I'll definitely be doing more lessons with her, and I have nothing but great things to say about her.

My experience with Umuhoza so far has been amazing! She is so patient as I ask her a million questions and is always good about explaining everything in enough detail that I really understand each part of the sentence/word and structure of everything. Cannot recommend her highly enough!

Umuhoza is a kind, patient, and charming teacher who is able to move at whatever pace necessary to help you learn. I've enjoyed every lesson with her and look forward to my next!
