Umuhoza Karen

I recommend Umuhoza for all levels of Swahili learners. Her wealth of knowledge of different east African cultures/customs adds an extra level of benefits to taking her classes for beginners to advance level learners.

I could you recommend Umuhoza more highly. I learn a lot during her classes AND it is a lot of fun. This must be the best way to learn a language... She leads the class Professionally, and seems to understand very well how to adapt her curriculum to my needs, interests and learning speed. When we talk, it is like I am in Africa already!

My first lesson with Umuhoza Karen was very enjoyable. She understood my level of speaking ability right away, and was very helpful and patient in correcting me and encouraging me. I booked another lesson with her immediately.

If it were possible I would definitely rate Umuhoza Karen much higher. She was very kind and understanding in her approach and always encourages me to keep speaking Swahili. She made the lesson very fun and interactive, and she is very knowledgeable about the Swahili language, she explains clearly and precisely more than what the word means but how to use it properly she is one of the best Swahili teachers out there. I'll definitely be doing more lessons with her, and I have nothing but great things to say about her.

My first Lesson was very enjoyable. I could always intervene when something was unclear or i had Question and when difficulties came up in terms of pronunciation, Umuhoza Karen encouraged me to try again while never feeling like i was getting rushed. Since it was my first lesson, i still have a lot of practicing in front of me but if you're being consistent with wanting to learn, i can recommend her.

It was my first lesson with Karen, and I felt very comfortable. She speaks at a comfortable pace and integrates feedback—especially regarding pronunciation—while teaching, which helped a lot. I will definitely book another lesson.
