Shen is a fantastic teacher! She is super energetic and always makes classes fun. She brings in real-life topics and teaches internet slang, so you learn how people actually speak. Shen is very organized and reliable, taking notes during class and sharing them as a pdf, which is super helpful for reviewing. She also creates personalized Quizlet flashcards after every lesson! She explains the grammar in a way that is easy to understand and speaks Chinese in a simple, clear way, so you can follow along and pick things up. Her English is also top. Most importantly, she truly cares that her students are learning and having fun along the way. Highly recommended if you want to learn Chinese and have a great time doing it!

Shen is an amazing teacher. She is very positive and enthusiastic which makes the class very enjoyable. After class she provides a copy of the lesson, a voice recording of areas to improve and practice, new vocab in a Quizlet deck, and homework. I highly recommend Shen to anyone wanting to expand their Mandarin skills, and especially those just starting out!

Shen LaoShi has found a way to make learning Chinese very fun and efficient. Her creativity stems from a background in art, so she can delicately tailor her teaching approach to each individual student. I'm learning Chinese because it's a beautiful language that will aid in business communication with our overseas partners. Since becoming Shen's student, I've received compliments on improvements to my speaking ability. You might end up seeing a kid in the background of a lesson or two. These moments, along with many others, make me feel like a part of Shen's family.

Great lesson as always! I'm a foodie, so Shen always tailors my lesson around food/cooking related topics. I came away from this lesson with lots of good new vocab and an excuse to travel into the city in search of hot pot!
