Candy

Candy is an amazingly intelligent teacher. She provides useful examples that demonstrate the way Japanese grammar should/not be used and why it is or isn't culturally appropriate; this level of learning is critical and cannot be achieved through self-study alone. (Not to mention her 'people skills' are off the chart.) She's knows how to teach--simply put!!

Wonderful blend of pushing me to use and understand Japanese with explaining concepts and words clearly in English when I needed. Very organized in providing a helpful structured learning experience while also open to conversation. Friendly, knowledgable, informative and easy to talk to. Really enjoyed my lesson! Looking forward to the next one.

Candy is such an amazing teacher. Her teaching methods are definitely student-centered, involving the personalized learning that a student needs. She is personable and wise beyond her years. I often wonder, "How did I happen to find this great teacher?" She makes you love learning. Her lessons are always diversified with cultural insights that draws you further into an ancient and admirable world.

Learning a new language as an adult is challenging and can be discouraging, but Candy's patience and thorough explanations motivate you to keep trying. it's always a pleasure joining her class.

Candys classes always provide a wonderfully encouraging classroom environnent. I'm not afraid to try to read or speak Japanese regardless of the make mistakes I may make. She is a born teacher.
