Today I learned a lot about the TE form from the Minna no Nihongo book. Ayumi-sensei was very patient as always. It’s an important part of learning Japanese grammar, and even though I made a couple of mistakes, she explained everything clearly and made sure I understood. She used really clear examples and illustrations. At the end of each lesson, she sends a comprehensive feedback and review of what we discussed. This includes my grammar mistakes and any vocabulary I mixed up, which I review during the week.

今年はあゆみ先生のレッスンを受けることができて、すごく嬉しいです。 先生から教わったのは、日本語だけじゃありません。いろいろな文化や、面白いこともたくさん教えてくれましたね。 今、先生のおかげ様で、私は簡単な日本語が話せます。もちろん自分でも勉強するのは大切ですが、あゆみ先生は授業の準備がすごく真面目だし、教材もわかりやすいです。 授業中も話しやすくて、レッスンの後に毎回丁寧にフィードバックをくれます。その熱意は、本当に素晴らしい。「もっと勉強したい！」という気持ちになりました。 人生で出会った中で、最高の先生の一人です。私は本当にラッキーですね。

Ayumi-san is a very patient and friendly teacher! She is really good at keeping the conversation going and encouraging you to speak as well. I really recommend her!

This time Ayumi-sensei and I tried to read some of the items from a menu. This is very helpful because I am going to visit Japan next month. I can read hiragana, katakana, and some basic kanji. But understanding kanji in context helps me understand and remember it better. Of course, applying what we have learned from the book MNN helps a lot, too.
