Hi, I’m Claudia. I’m a native German speaker based in Melbourne, Australia, and I teach adult learners at all levels, from first steps in German to Business German. Outside teaching, I’m currently learning Japanese (and hope to travel there soon) and training for a half marathon. I love walking along the beach with my dog, swimming and watching movies with friends, good food and great coffee. I also enjoy traveling, going to art galleries and museums, meeting new people and good conversations, as well as learning something new every day - which is probably why I enjoy teaching so much.

I’ve been teaching German for many years in language schools and online, and I love making lessons practical, engaging, and confidence-building. I hold a Master’s degree in German and English, plus a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. I simply enjoy teaching and seeing my students progress. My students say I am calm, encouraging, friendly and clear. They feel safe to make mistakes and say that even grammar can be fun with me. We keep it simple, step-by-step, and connected to real conversations.

My lessons are structured but relaxed and fun - and very interactive. We talk a lot, from the very beginning, so you build confidence quickly and stop “translating in your head.” I use guided questions, role plays, and real-life topics to keep you speaking, with gentle correction and clear explanations when needed. We'll use little video clips, article and songs too. You’ll get personalised notes and practice ideas between lessons, plus a bit of culture and everyday German so it feels natural, not textbook.
