My name is Miriam Penrod, I am from Orlando, Florida in the United States of America. In 2021, I moved to another State called Utah for university. I graduated in 2024 with a Bachelor's Degree in Chinese and two minors in Linguistics and Asian Studies. In addition to learning Chinese, my other hobbies include singing (I'm an opera singer), going to the beach and amusement parks, playing board games and card games, and I love riding horses! I have traveled a little bit. I've been to China once, the United Kingdom twice, and I have traveled to many places within the United States. I've also been on a cruise that stopped briefly in Mexico and the Bahamas. I hope to travel more in the future!Tôi với tư cách là giáo viên
I am a native English speaker with a typical American accent. After learning Chinese for about 7 year and a half, I can Mandarin at an Upper Intermediate Level. So if you are a native Mandarin speaker, I can use my Chinese skills to help you learn English! I have been a private Chinese tutor and teacher, a university Chinese tutor, as well as a teacher's assistant in a Chinese dual immersion program. I've taught all ages, from young children to adults, and I am willing to teach beginner and intermediate English learners! I specialize in conversational English and help students to achieve native like pronunciation, phrasing, and proper use of appropriate slang to make them sound more natural. My lessons will be personalized and relaxed, focusing the majority of the time on practicing conversation skills! I want you to have fun and feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, laugh, and in the end feel that your English is improving! In our first lesson, I will ask you what you would most like to learn in English class, so I know what your language goals and wants are. Please be aware, I am NOT certified to help you prepare for English tests OR business English.
