Hi there, my name is Katy and I am an English Language Tutor.
I was born and raised in the UK. I grew up speaking English and Hakka Chinese and, evidently, have a British accent. Aside from English and Hakka, I am fluent in French, Mandarin, Cantonese and have conversational ability in Japanese.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English and French and also received my TEFL qualification in 2020.
My interests that help me with learning languages are: travelling, art, literature, and food and anything to do with learning more about cultures different to my own.Tôi với tư cách là giáo viên
As a language learner myself, I am passionate about making language study accessible and enjoyable.
I have tutored KS3 to GCSE in the UK curriculum, worked as an English Language Assistant in 2 French high schools (via British Council) and tutored adult learners of different backgrounds and nationalities for different purposes. The latter includes 6 months of in-person tutoring in Japan and over 2 years of online tutoring.
As everyone has a different approach to learning, I try to adapt my classes to each student, taking the time to understand your interests and combine them with your language journey so that you learn vocabulary and structures that are most useful to you. Phong cách dạy & bài học của tôi
In initial trial lessons with students, we will have an introductory chat. This gives me the chance to learn more about your language goals and interests while also roughly gauging your English level.
In following sessions, we will move forward with lessons tailored to the criteria identified in the trial class.
As sessions are usually 1-on-1, there is a lot of flexibility in how sessions are conducted, whether you need more visual aids, pronunciation practice, grammar guidance etc. Homework can be provided for self-study if desired.Tài liệu giảng dạy của tôi
