Hello! My name is Joy, and I am passionate about languages, teaching, and helping people connect through communication. I was born in Kenya, and I currently live in Nairobi. Growing up here has allowed me to experience the Swahili language in its most natural cultural setting.
I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and supporting them on their language-learning journey. Outside of teaching, I love reading, working in my bookshop, and learning new things. I am friendly, patient, and committed to creating a warm and encouraging learning environment.
I am an experienced online and in-person instructor with a strong passion for helping students grow in confidence. I hold a TEFL certificate and have taught learners from different backgrounds, which has strengthened my ability to explain ideas clearly and patiently.
As a Swahili tutor, I focus on clarity, communication, and practical use of the language. I believe in meeting students where they are and ensuring they feel supported, encouraged, and motivated throughout their learning experience.
My lessons are interactive, practical, and tailored to each student’s goals. Whether you want Swahili for travel, work, school, or everyday communication, I design lessons that fit your needs.
