Having studied with Amber for a year, I highly recommend her. Amber is very good-natured but also very conscientious; always looking for ways to challenge me, but kind and patient when she has to correct my mistakes multiple times. She keeps up with my progress, returning as needed to refresh forgotten material. Whether we talk about shared experiences or talk about mundane matters to practice sentence structure, she is always trying to help me say things in a correct but natural way. Her post-meeting notes are concise, extremely helpful in cementing what we talked about, and a great resource for review study.

Amber creates such a comfortable environment in which to learn Chinese. She is patient and gets you talking while reviewing when appropriate mistakes made and getting students to use new examples of the grammar to improve their understanding of what was spoken in class. I look forward to each class with her and noticing the progress getting made after each session.

I have been having lessons with Amber for about a month now and my speaking has improved immensely. She is such a patient teacher, tests you on material from previous lessons to ensure that you remember the topics studied and brings a lovely atmosphere to the lessons. I would highly recommend her for anyone who is new to italki or wants to improve their speaking, reading and grammar.

I can not recommend Amber enough. She brings her own curiosity to class and genuinely cares about what you share in class and gives ample opportunity to speak and correct any mistakes you make. Great for any level!

Amber is really a great teacher. I studied with her almost daily for 3 weeks and I looked forward to my classes with her. She's kind, patient and flexible. I really appreciated how she prepared review exercises for me, helping me remember and secure vocab and grammar that I'd learned in previous lessons. With so many teachers, you talk about stuff one day and the next move on to something else, so you quickly forget everything you learned. Amber made sure to drill me on new terms so I wouldn't lose what we'd studied. At the same time, she kept lessons interesting and brought useful, engaging topics to discuss. I highly recommend Amber for those serious about studying Chinese.
