Emoni (Puerto Rico)

I just had an exceptional lesson with Emoni, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. She taught Puerto Rican phrases with real depth and context, not just vocabulary, but how, when, and why Puerto Ricans actually use them. What impressed me most was the breadth and richness of the lesson. Emoni didn’t just explain expressions. She tied them to culture, tone, and everyday usage so they feel natural and authentic. She also adapted the class perfectly to my level, pushing me to refine my Spanish while still making the session engaging and fun. If you’re serious about learning Puerto Rican Spanish or want a teacher who can take you to an advanced, natural-speaking level, Emoni is a very strong teacher that can provide valuable structure for learning. I look forward to the next lesson.

Emoni, is an absolutely amazing teacher! Being that I am of Puerto Rican decent, Emoni has been teaching me the Puerto Rican dialect of Spanish and incorporating pieces of Puerto Rican history. It's amazing how she's been able to customize each lesson for me. She's an absolute pleasure to work with, and I look forward to many many more lessons with her!

I have had 5 lessons with Emoni. She always has a good plan for our lesson, but she is also flexible, letting us take the lesson wherever it needs to go. I learn by connecting different things - sounds, words, memories and she is working with my learning style. All my life I have felt like a "fake" Puerto Rican because I couldn't speak Spanish. Sadly also the same emotion keeps me from practicing for fear of judgement. Emoni is helping me overcome these struggles and gain confidence. I feel like its a safe space to learn and to laugh at mistakes. I look forward to each lesson.
