Tomomi

Tomomi-sensei is wonderful to have conversations with. I had studied Japanese in the past and had been looking for someone that I could speak to for practice and to help me correct my waning Japanese grammar skills. We have general conversations about whatever topic comes to mind that day, and I always leave with new words and more complex sentence structures to help me speak better!

Tomomi-Sensei is extremely patient and kind. She did a wonderful job of encouraging me to figure out the hiragana for myself. I look forward to having more lessons with her and would recommend her highly to beginners like me. Thank you Tomomi-Sensei!

I've been busy outside of class but with Tomomi's patience I am still able to enjoy learning and practicing Japanese.

The materials used are excellent--the vocabulary is not overwhelming but still interesting, the grammar is right on the border between what I'm familiar with and what I'm unfamiliar with, and the thematic arrangement makes recall easier through context without pigeon-holing the content. Tomomi's explanations are really helpful and she's really patient and encouraging with my many attempts and mistakes, so I feel good about doing the practice to get it right and understand.

I am glad for the extra grammar practice! Systematically learning thematic vocabulary and grammar together is a great way to inventory what I'm able to recall and use, identifying what needs work.
