I’m Lydie, a Portuguese teacher from the beautiful coastal city of Setúbal. Teaching languages is not just my job — it’s my passion. Portuguese is my native language, and I also speak English, Romanian and some French, so I understand exactly what it feels like to learn a language from scratch.

I’ve been teaching Portuguese since 2016 and I frequently collaborate with several educational institutions, including Universidade Nova de Lisboa. I hold a postgraduate degree in Teaching Portuguese as a Non-Native Language, as well as TEFL and TEYL certificates.

I grew up in the U.S. when learning a second language was rare and so I had limited classes in school. Lydie has given me the confidence and thus the motivation to learn Portuguese.
