Hi guys! I'm from Georgia, U.S.A. I was born and raised there. After high school, I joined the Marine Corps. I served 4 years in the Marines. I was stationed in Okinawa, Japan for 3 of those years. When that was done, I went to the University of Guam where I spent my days either in class or at the beach. As you can see, I have spent a long time in Asia and around foreigners. This experience really gave me the passion for meeting foreigners and sharing English with them. I have been in Korea the last 10 years. Even though I study Korean, I am nervous to speak. I know the pressures that come with learning a language. However everything we want is on the other side of fear.
Tôi với tư cách là giáo viên
This is your class and your English learning experience. I want to tailor the class to your needs and wants. As a language learner myself, I understand the feeling when it comes to speaking the language. A teacher can really make or break that experience. I really focus on making students feel comfortable. That is my main focus. Able to keep the conversation going and keeping it natural is a real skill that takes time to perfect. Also, I try to get a real feel for the student and their interests. When you have an interest in the topic, conversations have a better and more natural flow. This are the two biggest things I focus on. All of this can be applied to all levels of English learning.
Phong cách dạy & bài học của tôi
I'm a big believer in consistency. Practicing a skill 1 hour a day for 10 days is better than practicing for 10 hours only once. With that said. I hope to see my students regularly, even if only once a week. I keep detail reports of all my classes. This helps me review when the next class comes around. Review is key. This is your class time, so I want you to speak as much as possible with me jumping in only when need be. I use this method when it comes to all types of class. Business English, basic level, everyday English or test prep all benefit from this. Also I think writing super important. If you are willing to write, I am willing to check it. If you can write it, then you can say it!
