PLEASE NOTE: I only teach adults over 18 and I don't teach outside my scheduled hours.
I’m learning Portuguese, so I know how scary using a second language can be. Back in the UK, I had a lot of experience of correcting letters, emails, reports and presentations: even though I have no formal training as a teacher, I can help if you’re working towards exams or looking for a job – or if you’re simply learning English for pleasure. I'm here to help you master the art of conversational English, to gently point out the right words to use, the proper grammar, the correct pronunciation. I'm a community tutor, rather than a professional teacher, which means that my lessons are informal and led by you, the student. We can talk about whatever you like: films, music, TV programmes, books, travel, current affairs, food, you name it – but I might struggle with sport! Or you can pick an online article and read it to me, and I’m happy to help with new and unfamiliar vocabulary, phrasal verbs, idiom, tenses, pronunciation or intonation, and afterwards, we can use the subject of the piece as a starting point for a chat! I can assist you with any written work you have produced, too – I can make suggestions about style and sentence construction, and we can have fun in the process!5.0

I appreciate the individual and delicate approach, which Mr. Dave uses, as a English tutor he shows tolerance and diplomacy, while he makes comments regarding mistakes, Mr. Dave very careful and polite! This is a great combination of competent qualities/skills of a teacher that helps to learn English easily.
