The one thing I love the most about Rafael is that he makes me think. The Spanish I learn with him is just an extremely delicious side dish.

An absolute all-star teacher! I have been a regular student of Rafa’s for a while, and I always leave fully energized after our Spanish chats. The conversation flows, and I hardly note that any of my deficiencies in the language are barriers to deep and meaningful exchanges. I absolutely recommend his “Next Level Spanish!” modules, where he finds thought-provoking material, based on common interests, to review before the class. I often wish that the clock would just freeze, as his questions and suggestions generate so much intrigue that I just hate having to disconnect. Thank you, Rafa, for bringing my Spanish to a level of real connection and vitality. You’ve got a special gift for inspiring and lifting those around you.

Rafael is an amazing teacher, but not necessarily for the reasons one might think. Our lessons were never structured, but this is what I personally was looking for. For me, it was about conversation, but not the typical small talk one would have with most people. Rafael is curious, intelligent and makes you get out of your comfort zone not only linguistically, but also psychologically. He can discuss almost any topic and gives a lot of space for self expression. He gives valuable feedback at the end of each lesson, and can explain well one's common mistakes. Thank you, Rafael!
