Hi! I’m Maria, a language teacher with over 15 years of experience. I’m originally from Brazil and I’ve been living in Italy since 2017.
I learned both English and Italian as second languages, so I truly understand how it feels to freeze, to overthink every word, or to feel like you’re not yourself when speaking. That’s why today I help adults speak more naturally and confidently, using a calm and practical approach. No pressure, no perfectionism. Just real communication, personalised strategies, and routines that actually work (even if you have a busy schedule).
Whether you’re learning for work, travel, or personal growth, I’m here to support you with empathy, structure, and clarity.
I’m calm, supportive and highly organised. My lessons are relaxed but structured, because I believe you learn best when you feel both safe and guided.
I won’t overload you with grammar rules or generic exercises. Instead, I’ll listen to what’s blocking you, and I’ll help you build a study routine that feels clear, useful and doable, even with a busy life.
I teach with empathy, because I know the fear of not being able to express yourself. But I also teach with strategy, because progress doesn’t come from motivation, it comes from consistency.
My lessons are always personalised and focused on real-life communication. That means we’ll:

I’ve had several lessons with Maria, and she’s fantastic! I always look forward to our class. She makes the lessons easy to understand, fun, and goes at a pace that really works for me. She also does a great job of checking in frequently and making sure the lessons are up to my expectations/comfortability.

Maria e’ davvero una ragazza ed una insegnante incredibilmente attenta, premurosa e preparata.
E’ molto paziente e molto disponibile. La mia esperienza personale con Maria e’ super positiva. Lei ha un modo di comunicare tranquillo e sereno che ti mette subito nella condizione ottimali per imparare. Una ragazza che oltre ad un garbo e gentilezza che non vanno date per scontanti oggi come oggi, ha un suo metodo personale d’insegnamento davvero comprensibile a noi principiante.

Maria is a wonderful and patient teacher! I really appreciate the variety of exercises we do - they are fun, challenging, and fitting of my level. And because she teaches in Portuguese and initiates practice chats throughout, I find myself naturally trying to come up with phrases to speak with her despite my fear of getting it wrong! This has helped a lot in honing my speaking skills, which I find to be the most challenging part of language learning.
