Salma

Another amazing lesson. Salma is a really excellent teacher - I’ve tried a few different Egyptian Arabic teachers here on Italki and Salma is one of the best for sure. Very good at identifying and solving the holes in my grammar and vocab and helping me express myself while providing loads of entertaining material for comprehension. 10/10 ☺️

I already have a fairly advanced level of Egyptian Arabic, so it's hard to find a teacher who can really teach me something new, but somehow Salma found a way! I was surprised at how much I learned in just one lesson with her. We managed to cover a wide variety of topics, including grammar, vocab, listening, pronunciation and even some cultural tidbits that no book will teach you. We spoke Arabic most of the time, but Salma also speaks excellent English and so was able to explain some difficult points in precise, colloquial English. I can't wait to take another lesson with her.

Salma has been a really wonderful guide for me as I'm getting started with Egyptian. She has been very patient, corrects my mistakes in an encouraging way, and suggests lots of helpful exercises and materials for me to think about and increase my exposure. I'm really happy I started taking lessons with Salma and am excited to keep going!

بقالي حوالي سنتين بدرس مصري مع سلمى مرة او مرتين في الأسبوع واتعلمت كتير معاها! بتكلم انجليزي وصيني واتعلمت اسباني في المدرسة من زمان, لكن مكنتش عارف عربي خالص. بس بعد ما درست معاها، بقيت بعرف اكتب طول الريفيو ده بالمصري، ومن شهرين رحت رحلة لمصر واتمرنت على انّي اتكلم مصري طول الوقت مع ناس من اهل البلد: سواقين، موظفين محل او فندق، مرشدين، الخ. كل ده عشان درست مع سلمى هي مدرسة كويسة جداً عشان حنينة وصبورة. هي مدرسة محترفة بره ايتالكي، معاها ماجستير في genetics, وبتدرس الفيزياء في مصر. بتدرس عربي في italki as a passion project—she’s the real deal! في دروسنا بنتكلم عن احنا عاملين ايه، حياتنا، اصحابنا، اسرنا…بننبسط دايماً. برضو هي بتستخدم كتب "كلمني عربي"؛ هم مكتوبين كويس وبيدرسوا مواضيع مناسبة لطلاب جداد. بحب ان سلمى مبتدرسش ازاي الواحد يتكلم ويقرا ويسمع بس، كمان بتدرس ازاي الواحد يكتب، وده اللي بسطني اوي. لو انت عايز تبدا تتعلم عربي، سلمى احسن مدرسة ليك!
