Hello! this is Karman from Hong Kong. Apart from working as an English teacher, I also had experience working as a freelance interpreter, translator and editor. My native language is Cantonese, and I can speak Mandarin fluently. As an experienced second language learner myself, I believe I am well aware of the challenges of picking up a new language. I have an honour degree in Education, major in English language teaching. I lived in England for over 5 years and worked for various companies. I started teaching English as a second language many years ago, and have gained experience conducting various types of lessons to students at all levels, including speaking and communicative classes, and one-to-one tutorials for workplace communication. My lessons are going to be student-oriented and engaging. The teaching materials will be tailor-made and carefully chosen to cater for your needs and objectives. Also, the lessons are going to make use of various types of authentic materials, including podcast, music, TV series, newspaper and news articles. I will employ different kinds of teaching methodology in our lessons, including role-play, practice of interactions in some daily-life contexts, learning grammar in an interesting way and putting forward your arguments in writing.

I've been having weekly lessons with Karman for almost 4 months now. I have ADHD so my learning style is pretty unique and a traditional classroom lesson doesn't work well for me. Karman has always been very accommodating and made sure the lessons are fun, useful and work with my learning style.

I really enjoyed my lesson with Karman! She took the time to understand my goals and made the session relaxed and casual. She was super patient and accommodating, especially when I needed extra time to explain myself.
She made me feel comfortable and supported the whole time, which made it so much easier to practice and learn. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a kind and understanding tutor!
