Curious, creative, positive and autonomous person. My life in different countries (Spain, Italy, UK, Belgium, Mozambique, USA, Qatar and the Congo) has taught me to adapt to changes easily and to develop great cross-cultural communication skills and interpersonal and intercultural awareness. I have an energetic and enthusiastic approach to work/tasks. I am a Spanish native speaker; I am also able to communicate fluently in English (C1), Italian (C2) and French (C1). I study Arabic language and culture since 2014.

Being a teacher is being the guide that the student needs to improve the process of learning. Being a teacher is being a facilitator. I have learnt different languages in my life (English, French, Italian and Portuguese), so I know the process of learning a language really well. There are high and low moments and I have gone through them too, so I can help you to keep you motivated. If you learn Spanish you will open the door to get to know an amazing culture.

My on line lessons are very practical. The focus is on the student who will begin to speak and to use the language from the first moment. I'm into Cognitive grammar that is a cognitive approach to language which hypothesizes that grammar, semantics, and lexicon exist on a continuum instead of as separate processes altogether. This method allows me to train autonomous students who can choose the best way to express themselves in Spanish. Besides, the student will be exposed to different accents and will discover the amazing Hispanic culture. All of this in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, where mistakes are welcome. It is not possible to learn a language without making mistakes.

Laura has been fantastic since day one. I saw that she was a skilled teacher from the beginning and can reaffirm it after 10 lessons. She comes very prepared and has helped me improve through structured exercises and guided discussions. I'm a beginner in Spanish and feel very comfortable trying to express myself, even though before Laura, I had never spoken Spanish to anyone in my life. I also appreciate the support and professionalism shown in class, and am planning to continue my studies with her!

I have had a few teachers on italki in the past, but Laura is the best. She’s fun to converse with, she plans lessons tailored to your level, and she teaches you the correct expressions and words for what you’re trying to say. Even though I learn a lot, the lessons don’t feel like lessons - more like talking with a friend who can help bring me to another level. Highly recommend Laura! You won’t find a better language teacher!
