• Hi! I’m Alex from Northern Ireland, and I can’t wait to help you power up your English!
• I’m completing a PhD in Sociology at Trinity College Dublin, and completed my master's at the University of Oxford. Part of my research is interviewing top Italki tutors about what truly makes a great teacher. I’ve got plenty of insider tips to share!
• I’ve studied Italian, French, Welsh, Polish, and Romanian on Italki, so I know exactly what it’s like to tackle a new language. Right now, I’m prepping for the C2 PLIDA in Italian—so I’m in the trenches right along with you!Tôi với tư cách là giáo viên
I lived for an extended period in Brittany, France, working as a language assistant in a lyceé. I’ve worked with many different levels and with students between the ages of 15 and 20, so I am familiar with the difficulties and challenges that learners often have.
I have also taught various modules in sociology and social theory at Trinity College Dublin, so I have a very firm grounding in general teaching methods. Phong cách dạy & bài học của tôi
I am flexible and eager to tailor my classes to each student’s preferences. These are the methods I normally use:
1.) Structured conversation. In advance, we will decide what to discuss and I’ll prepare some thoughts and questions to provoke conversation. You can do the same and that way we can have a rich exchange!
2.) Games. I love to play twenty questions, would I lie to you?, bingo, finish the story etc.
3.) Discussion materials. I often use book chapters, articles, videos, films and other media.
4.) Course/exam preparation. I do not specialise in exam preparation, but am happy to help with exercises and practice papers.Tài liệu giảng dạy của tôi

Alex is a very nice person, it is always a pleasure to converse with him, he is never boring. His solid background makes him an educated person. He helps you and suggests different ways to formulate a sentence and corrects you when you make mistakes. He is patient even if you need time to formulate a sentence. Super super recommended!!!
