Chan

It was another fun and fruitful lesson. As my homework, I usually read an article and make my original sentences with some new words. Chan is always kind and helps me express what I want to say in Lao. I recommend her as your teacher with all my heart😌✨

I spent time practicing talking with Chan. I’ve studied outside of class time and came prepared with all the knowledge we went over in our classes. This lesson we talked only in Lao (occasionally in English for corrections and such) but I thoroughly enjoyed using the skills I learned in a safe, comfortable, teaching environment. I am excited to keep talking to Chan only in Lao!

How many rave reviews can I submit? It keeps getting better and better. The conversation flows now, and while I constantly fetch up on verbal sandbars, Chan is great about helping me get afloat again. Tonight I told her that I wanted to go beyond my initial goal of learning rudimentary Lao, and commit to a year’s worth of twice-weekly lessons with the goal of being able to read at the end. So, we’re off! I am excited; she tells me that one-year goal is readily achievable, and she’s so good that I believe her!

I have met some Lao teachers, and so far she is the best. She is not only very knowledgeable and passionate about languages, but also very friendly and patient. I highly recommend her. She is not a type of teacher who can just speak that language. I really appreciate her lesson.

I am really enjoying my lessons with Chan and learning so much! I love how she has organized the lessons by themes that naturally progress from topic to topic. I also love that all of the topics are things that I can use right away in conversations! Chan is very kind and patient.
