Hello, everyone! I am Elena. I am from Guangzhou, a city in south China.
My Chinese name is Jiaxian; I am a native speaker of Mandarin and Cantonese.

I already have 7 years of experience in online teaching, with certification to teach Chinese and English to adults and children. Also, I have completed IELTS teacher training courses with a certificate.
When I was in New Zealand for a working holiday a few years ago, I realized that learning their language is always the best way to know more about different cultures. That's why I want to help people who learn about the Chinese language and culture. At the same time, I am committed to supporting Chinese students in improving their spoken English and preparing them for studying and working in an English language environment. We reviewed the lesson from last week as well as new material on the same topic. Was very thorough in explaining things I wasn't sure of. She also asked my questions to back up what we just talked about, and went through exercises.

We talked about our day as usual, which opened up many topics, and we carried the conversation further from there. Then we moved on to the reading materials, and I practiced answering questions, which gave me more opportunities to practice conversation. Whenever I wanted to know a word, my teacher would say it and write it down for me to review and practice it. Her teaching style is great!

We just talked about our day and the weekend, as well as other topics based on it. Lots of opportunity to practice. If I didn't know the word to express myself, then I would ask my teacher, and she would tell me the word and how to write it.
