Hello, my name is Joshua and I am from Pennsylvania in the United States. I have been living in Taiwan since 2017 and I am currently on an 8 month trip around Asia and Europe before I return to the US. I love traveling, exploring new places, learning about different cultures, rock climbing, SCUBA diving and spending as much time as I can at the beach or near the ocean! I also enjoy learning languages too! I have studied Spanish since High School and received a Minor in Spanish from my university. In 2017 I moved to Taiwan and began teaching English. I spent my first year in Taiwan teaching English in the classroom in a Cram School (Buxiban). I taught students aged 3-16 years old. I taught all levels from ABC classes with students without any prior English experience to very advanced classes with lots of discussions and critical thinking. I also taught Science and Art classes geared towards ESL learners. After teaching in a Cram School for one year I transitioned to teaching English online. I consider myself a professional and relaxed teacher. I want my English lessons to be fun and enjoyable for the student. I am very patient and always give students as much time as they need to respond and participate in class. I focus on giving students as many opportunities as possible to speak and practice English during class. The student should be doing most, or all, of the talking in class. I am there to guide them and offer corrections without interrupting the student or disrupting the lesson. I have taught lessons that focus on phonics, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, reading and discussion, conversation, TOEFL preparation, and cross-cultural understanding through various topics.Chứng chỉ

ESL TeacherI taught ESL for one year with HESS in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. I taught students that ranged in age from 4 to 16 years old. I taught all levels and class types that HESS offered, from ABC/beginner classes to more advanced classes and even science classes designed for ESL learners.
2018 - 2020
Online ESL TeacherI have been teaching ESL online since 2018 and primarily teach with the company VIPKid. My students range in age from 4-16 years old. I teach multiple types of lessons with VIPKid. I teach lessons that focus on grammar, phonics, vocabulary, free talk (conversation), pronunciation, reading, and also lessons to prepare students for the TOEFL.
