I've been taking Cantonese lessons with Fafa on italki for some time now, and I can wholeheartedly recommend her to any learner - beginner or advanced. She is incredibly engaging and highly skilled at teaching. One of the things I appreciate most is that she uses Jyutping, which makes pronunciation so much easier to learn, and she also includes the special characters that are unique to spoken Cantonese. This has really helped me to connect with the language as it’s actually used. Fafa is not only knowledgeable about Cantonese itself but she also has a broad understanding of many different topics, so conversations with her are always interesting and fun. She's quick to adapt, easy to talk to, and creates a relaxed learning atmosphere. Her lessons are never dull, and I always leave with more confidence and clarity. If you're serious about learning Cantonese - or just want a fun, effective, and culturally rich way to start - Fafa is the perfect teacher for you.

Fafa is a really fun teacher and conversation partner. Our classes fly by with lots of laughs and no pressure. Our lessons are less formal and more conversation-focused, which is great for me, but she can do a more structured approach too. She always makes me feel comfortable and at ease speaking, even when I make mistakes or forget something I should know. She is super funny and engaging, a bit goofy, and always lots of energy and enthusiasm. Highly recommend taking Fafa’s class!

I've been taking classes with Eva for almost a year now and from the first class, it was like I was talking to a friend. She has helped me so much. She teaches me vocabulary and helps me practice my Mandarin and we always have a fun conversation! I look forward to our classes and I recommend Eva to anyone who wants to practice their Mandarin and have fun while doing it!

Laoshi is very approachable and fun to talk to. Before we started our lesson, she took the time to ask about my goals and study plans, which I really appreciated. I felt comfortable during our class; there was no pressure. She corrected my tones and helped me recall Hanzi in a patient and supportive way. This was a great first Cantonese lesson. Fafa was enthusiastic, patient and had an intuitive teaching style that promoted lots of active participation, but at a level that felt achievable for a beginner.
