I’m fluent in Dutch, German, French, English — and “what does this word even mean?”
I’m Josanne — jurist, tutor, language nerd and group fitness instructor from the Netherlands. My native language is Dutch, but I also speak English, German (and Swiss German 🫕), French and a bit of Spanish. I’m currently learning Italian and Frisian.
I read obsessively, write compulsively, and take part in NaNoWriMo every year — in one of my target languages since 2021. I dream of publishing a medical thriller someday. Until then, I settle for being multilingual and slightly overcaffeinated. ☕Tôi với tư cách là giáo viên
I’ve taught Dutch and French in secondary school, and German and Dutch in adult education. I’ve been tutoring since I was a student myself — in law, languages, and study skills. My lessons are conversation-based, flexible, and adapted to your needs. I won’t give you a step-by-step textbook course — instead, I’ll coach you through real-life communication, at your level and pace.
I don’t teach Dutch from scratch, but if you already speak a little, I’ll help you build fluency, confidence, and clarity. Because language is a skill — and you only learn it by using it. Phong cách dạy & bài học của tôi
Learning other languages has taught me to see Dutch from a learner’s perspective — including all its quirks and traps. In our lessons, you will do most of the talking. I’ll guide you, ask questions, and correct when needed — gently and with purpose.
I use the chat for quick corrections or a shared Google Doc if you prefer more structure. Whether you want to build fluency, refine grammar or just get more confident, I’m here to help. I would certainly recommend Josanna. She's incredibly bright and knowledgeable with a clear love of language. She speaks beautifully and clearly which makes comprehension more enjoyable and puts one at ease. The lesson absolutely flew and I'm looking forward to the next one.
