Ayako-sensei is an excellent teacher. I’ve been studying with her for two years, and I’m truly happy with the progress we’ve made. I love that her classes are both structured and personalized to my needs and learning goals. She’s a warm, caring, and supportive teacher. Her lessons are always interactive, and she creates a comfortable environment where I feel encouraged to speak, ask questions, and make mistakes without pressure. She explains even the hardest grammar clearly, often using real-life examples. We use different materials, including textbooks and native Japanese books tailored to my interests. The classes are relaxed, with plenty of opportunities to practice conversation, and the time always flies by. I’m so grateful to have found her. Ayako先生 is an amazing teacher who is not only knowledgeable and professional but also kind, patient, and deeply committed to her students’ growth. After nearly 20 years away from Japanese, I returned with plenty of resources—but also gaps and uncertainty. Ayako Sensei helped me focus on what truly fits my level, energy, and goals. After nine lessons, I’m excited to keep going.

I really enjoyed my lesson today! Ayako sensei was great at allowing me to begin trying conversation in Japanese, which was difficult since I'm not so used to speaking, but it was fun nonetheless, especially as the teacher is friendly and easy to speak to. The new grammar was really well-explained, and my questions from my homework were answered in a helpful way that was easy to understand. Can't wait for my next lesson! Thank you!

I've been studying Japanese with Ayako-sensei for just over a year now, and I couldn't be more grateful for her support and guidance. Under her instruction, my reading, speaking, and listening skills have improved dramatically. Thanks to her preparation and encouragement, I was able to pass the JLPT N5 exam last year with confidence. Ayako-sensei is incredibly sweet, patient, and always encouraging...even when I’m being a bit of a lazy student. She makes every lesson enjoyable and helps me stay motivated, even when the material gets challenging. Studying with her has made learning Japanese a fun and rewarding experience. I fully intend to keep learning with her for as long as I need help, and as long as she continues to teach. Ayako-sensei is a great teacher who has been working with me on test prep for the JLPT N2. Additionally, she has been helping me through the difficulties of word recall while speaking. Ayako-sensei gives plenty of space to make and learn from mistakes, while being encouraging and curious about the topics I bring to the lesson. Looking forward to the continued support in subsequent lessons as I continue pressing on towards the goal post that is the N2.

Great first class ! We discussed my learning goals and teacher Ayako got straight into testing me to figure out what level my Japanese is so that we could further progress. Ayako is very friendly and easy to talk to and great at explaining grammar and words I didn’t understand. The lesson was conducted mainly in Japanese which was greatly helpful for me!
