Julie

I've been taking free talking lessons with Julie once or twice a week for nearly three years now. She is experienced and knowledgeable, as well as kind and gracious when correcting my mistakes. Through natural conversations on diverse topics with varying levels of complexity, she's helped me expand my vocabulary and grasp of grammar. She provides explanations that match my level of understanding and gives insightful suggestions on which words are suitable to use in which contexts. Thanks to her, when I visited Korea for the first time, even though I'd only been studying Korean for 3 years, I was able to get around easily and surprise those I spoke to with how confidently and comfortably I could carry on a conversation. 선생님 진심으로 감사합니다! 앞으로도 재미있는 얘기 많이 했으면 좋겠어요~

I enjoy my lessons with Julie. She makes learning a difficult language like Korean fun. She does her best to correct my many mistakes. And, she helps me with understanding my Integrated Korean High Intermediate textbook that I use in a college course. She provides me with explanations in both English and Japanese which I find helpful in understanding the grammar concepts. She is not only a good teacher but a good person. I highly recommend her.

It was my first lesson with Julie, my first Korean lesson, and my first italki lesson in years, so I was a bit tense. But Julie seems very kind, and I was quickly able to relax. It is such a great opportunity to be able to go back and forth between Korean and Japanese (and to fall back on English once in a while). I am looking forward to learn more about both languages. After the lesson, Julie sent me - a personalized pdf (about 2 pages), with the vocabulary and grammar I struggled on during the lesson; - and a detailed plan for next lesson, with useful vocabulary and expressions, and some Practice Questions. Both documents are very useful. I am very thankful, and I'll make sure to use them well. Thank you, Julie; I am looking forward to our next lessons!
