Bonjour! I’m Élise from Poitiers, France—a lifelong language lover fluent in 4 tongues (currently tackling Italian!). My passion? Helping students *practice* French consistently through engaging, real-world conversations and cultural immersion. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me walking my sleepy dog Sibyl or diving into art and history books, I am also studying linguistics at the moment in the hopes of getting accepted in a master program in September 2026. Let’s make French feel alive together—à bientôt!
As a teacher I use the same techniques I use when I want to learn a language. There is 1 secret about learning a language : practice, practice, practice.
I know it's nothing new but it works. During our first classes I will help you set up a daily home practice focused on the 4 skills of a language: reading/ writing/ listening/ speaking.
I will also share with you a file that I keep updated regularly about French movies, TV shows, series, documentaries, podcasts to watch. Learning a language is also learning about the culture.
I am pretty laid back and rather talkative but I will make sure you have results and that the practice is enjoyable for you.
Anyone learning French or any other language have a similar objective : being able to understand a francophone and express themself with ease. It is not everyone's objective to become a linguist.

Elise is a great teacher! She is very organized provides structured materials and homework to reinforce grammar concepts. The topics in the reading and homework are interesting so I do not get bored.

My first introductory lesson with Elise was great. She was easy to talk to, encouraging, and seamless with her corrections. I appreciated that she let me try to figure out what I wanted to say before jumping in right away with a correction or the right phrase. I am excited to continue my learning with her and believe that her approach will be comprehensive and effective. I felt very motivated and capable after this first session and am excited to have more!
