Laura is an excellent teacher. Knowledgeable, completely trilingual in Portugues, English and Spanish and able to 'scaffold' the student's knowledge to allow conversations to flow while leaving notes for the student to study after the lesson; that is, the lesson itself is not all that one benefits from Laura's conversations. I have worked with many very good ITalki tutors. Laura is one of the very best. She is a pleasure to work with and advances the student's language knowledge. I highly recommended Laura to any level of language learner.

Laura is an amazing teacher! I had many teachers before her but I didn’t feel like my Portuguese was improving, but since having classes with Laura, I can see a huge difference! I don’t translate from Spanish into Portuguese anymore, I just speak in Portuguese without translating in my mind! I feel much more confident speaking now and it’s all thanks to Laura ☺️ she creates a really safe environment where I have lost my fear of making mistakes ☺️ obrigadaaa 🥰

Laura has been with me since near the very beginning of my Portuguese learning. She is professional and knowledgeable and able to break down concepts in a way that actually is consistent across the language. (Ex. This is not an irregular verb, but a pattern….etc.) This is incredibly hard to find in a teacher that not only understands the grammar and language well, but can explain it. She is proficient in English and other languages to compare the languages and can help give a full structure/scaffolding for how Portuguese works. She meets you where you are and is patient. She is understanding when an emergency happens and schedules accordingly. She’s also fun to talk to.(: I expect to continue with Laura for a few years to continue solidifying my Portuguese so that I don’t create bad habits in my speech. I would say I’m still a level B2, but close to C1. I definitely recommend Laura as a teacher.
