Matías Méndez

As always, a great lesson. I learn not only the language, but also about life in Argentina and Buenos Aires. Matías clearly explains peculiarities of Spanish and makes the lessons both challenging and rewarding.

I started learning Spanish with Matias at the elementary level (A1) approximately six months ago, and I am currently at the intermediate level (B1). There is still much to learn, but I believe it is an essential stage in the evolution of my language, which I have been greatly enjoying. Matías is welcoming, but also focused, steady, and patient. I appreciate his friendly teaching style, which is free of pressure or tension. For me to be able to improve my speaking abilities and overcome the language barrier, that environment is CRUCIAL. Con la ayuda de un maestro fantástico, Matías, quiero continuar mi viaje hacia ser fluente o al menos semi-fluente en español. Для тех, кто серьезно настроен выучить испанский язык и находится в поиске хорошего преподавателя, я уверена, что Матиас один из лучших преподавателей на этой платформе!

My first lesson went great, I look forward to my next one.

One of the major things I like in a teacher is someone who is actively learning another language as an adult. There are huge differences between someone who is natively bilingual/from school and an adult learner because it poses specific challenges to the learner. Matias is actively also learning other languages like Russian and French which means one of the many topics we chat about is how to learn a language in of itself (in Spanish of course!) I’ve had 100+ lessons with him and I think he’s great.

Matías es un profesor muy bueno. Él habla muy tranquilamente y sin acento. Él hace preguntas que mueven la conversación. Él escribe en el chat frases y palabras que son difíciles para el estudiante. Va a explicar el contexto y cuándo usar las palabras y frases. Las clases son divertidas con él.

Matías was extremely patient and encouraging. I was keen to understand some of the nuances of the language in Argentina and he was able to explain clearly and prioritise learning points. Very knowledgeable teacher.
