Juri

I've been taking regular lessons with Juri for the last 5-6 months now and am very happy with my choice of teacher. I started with zero knowledge of the Japanese language, but felt I had good guidance to now being able to speak (a little bit), read and write hiragana and katakana, and some kanji. Juri expects that I take my studies seriously, but I never feel pressured if I can’t finish something or forget some words here and there, which helps me feel comfortable with the learning process and lets me enjoy learning without worrying too much about mistakes or pronunciation holding me back. Now that I understand the basics, she focuses more on conversation at the beginning of each lesson and notes down any vocabulary I don’t know so I can study it afterward. This has been incredibly helpful, as speaking a new language has always been a hurdle for me, but I feel comfortable and at ease during our lessons. I can’t wait to speak Japanese fluently one day! ありがとうございました、先生！

Juri-sensei is an amazing teacher. I always learn so much in my lessons with her. I really appreciate that the lessons have structure but also room for questions and real time examples in addition to review of things we've already gone over so it sticks. I like that Juri-sensei gives corrections and gets you to figure out why so you can speak better and apply that knowledge to the future. She is also good at identifying weaker areas and gives homework accordingly so you're not going over things you already know and best using your time together. Juri-sensei clarifies things really well and explains things I don't understand or wouldn't think of as English speaker. I'm always learning new words and getting more context about how to put sentences together. I really enjoy lessons with Juri-sensei and feel like I make lots of progress.

He aprendido mucho desde que empecé, y ahora puedo estructurar oraciones básicas hablando, escribiendo, y leyendo un poco. Al poder hacer esto, me gusta mucho que じゅり usa los ejercicios de audio porque te expone más al languaje. También me gusta mucho que ella va poco a poco conmigo con el audio cuando se me hace difícil entender lo que estoy escuchando. I have learned a lot since I first started, and now I can structure basic sentences by talking, writing, and reading a little bit. Being able to do this, I love that じゅり sometimes uses listening exercises because it further exposes you to the language. I also love that she breaks down the audio and goes over it with me little by little when it's hard for me to understand what I'm hearing.
