Kevin helped me to prepare and pass exams for BIB. Just after three months I can have perfect results (8 for speaking and 10 for reading and knowledge of Dutch history). His support, informative materials helped me to achieve such results and I continue to study together with Kevin to improve my level even more.

I've been working with Miguel for a few months by now and already noticed considerable improvement in my confidence in speaking. At the moment, I speak Dutch at around B2 level and the approach Miguel uses fits my language needs perfectly. We practice analysing texts at academic level to help me prepare for my upcoming university master course in psychology which I will follow fully in Dutch. Miguel helps me understand and use idioms and academic vocabulary, practices grammar with me, and respectfully corrects my mistakes. I enjoy using the book with articles provided by him when preparing for lessons and I always receive support from him when questions arise. Miguel is always prepared for the lesson and always has something to ask and talk about. I greatly recommend working with Miguel to students in higher education looking to bring their Dutch to a new level!

On my first call with Marleen, I explained that I had an ambitious goal - to begin learning Dutch, study with dedication and efficiency, and be ready to pass the A2 exams within five months. I did not know any Dutch words at the time and had no exposure to the language. She was up for the challenge! We created a plan, I met with her twice per week, and five months later I took all of the exams and passed! Gwenn is a wonderful teacher. She is diligent, attentive, and always fully focused on her students. And after more than 10 years on Italki, I know how rare these qualities are here. She makes the lessons feel like a real conversation rather than your typical boring classroom exercise. Our sessions have covered a wide range of topics, from society to different worldviews and perspectives, and I always leave with something new to think about. She has also played an important role in my NT2 B1 preparation, and I am happy to say that I have successfully passed all parts of the exam, with her playing a crucial part in getting me there. Since starting with Gwenn, I have noticed real progress in my Dutch, and it has already helped me a lot in life. I would recommend her without hesitation!

Ik heb in 3 jaar tijd 50 lessen bij Hans Simons gevolgd: eerst om mijn Nederlands te verbeteren, daarna om medisch Nederlands te oefenen en nu af en toe om de finesses te verbeteren. Ik vind het ook heel nuttig om met hem te praten, niet alleen als docent maar ook als persoon. Zeker een aanrader!

I really love my lessons with Roos! I am usually very anxious when it comes to speaking in Dutch, because I am a perfectionist and I don’t want to make mistakes, but Roos makes me feel at ease and really comfortable to talk. What I appreciate a lot is that she can have conversations about all kinds of subjects and this makes every lesson interesting and a great opportunity to expand your vocabulary. I recommend booking a lesson with her!

I’ve been studying with Ray for 24 weeks – and I moved from A0 to B1+, while living in the US. Ray is approachable, flexible, and extremely supportive. I came in with a good understanding of my own strengths and weaknesses when it comes to language learning and he was able to adapt his style to what I needed. Ray had zero ego about all the supplemental ways I tried to educate myself – there was no rigid “this is my method and ye shall not deviate from it” BS. He brought so many free resources to the table that I didn’t have to spend a dime on books, videos, or worksheets. We had our final lesson today and we spent the first 45 minutes just discussing what is going on in my life **in Dutch** – I could never have predicted I’d be able to do that at this point and I’m thrilled with the progress I’ve made. I’m moving to AMS next month and will absolutely be able to live daily life in Dutch because of the work we’ve done together. TL;DR Smash that booking button – Ray is your guy!
