Teaching 11 languages, currently learning 3 more When teaching I take both my schedule and my classes seriously. When a class is scheduled, it is part of my weekly plan and I get ready for it. I conduct a detailed journal of what I have been doing with my student, I write down every session, thus it is easy for me to check what we did on our past sessions. I used to teach more conventionally, meaning with my students being in the same room as me. In 2021 I started using Skype for my classes and things work out very well. I am always punctual as I respect the time my students take for our class, likewise I do appreciate if my students do the same.

I believe in a communicative approach: my students start speaking from day 1 by being introduced to basic structures! These structures are building blocks for creating many sentences. We will also practice specific sounds (pronunciation), and you'll be introduced to new vocab through conversation. Grammar is touched upon when a mistake is made, or when the message is not clear.

I was a language instructor in China for ten of the eleven years that I lived there (and an adventure tour leader for one!) and have also been teaching online for over three years now. I lived and worked in Guilin, Chongqing and Jiamusi and have developed a deep understanding of the people and culture of the country, although I enjoy learning about all cultures.
