I am a native German and was born in Northern Germany where I spent all my childhood years. After completing my university degree as well as my teacher training course in English and German, I moved to the UK where I have been working as a German teacher and translator. One feedback I get regularly is that I make the students feel at ease, never rush them and let them express themselves freely. I make a point not to over correct my students. Out of 5 mistakes in their sentence I will correct one or two of the more serious ones and I praise them parsimoniously but genuinely.
